Bloober Team, the studio behind psychological horror games like The Blair Witch and Layers of Fear 2, is putting out another title in the genre, called The Medium. This third-person game will allow gamers to explore abandoned areas using psychic powers, which will help them solve the game’s puzzles and mysteries.
Here’s the official synopsis of The Medium:
“Discover a dark mystery only a medium can solve. Travel to an abandoned communist resort and use your unique psychic abilities to uncover its deeply disturbing secrets, solve dual-reality puzzles, survive encounters with sinister spirits, and explore two realities at the same time.”

WHEN CAN YOU DOWNLOAD THE MEDIUM?
Since this game is an Xbox exclusive, fans will only be able to play The Medium on their Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S for $49.99. Subscribers to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will also receive The Medium as part of the subscription, so that’s something to consider as well.
Players will also be able to play The Medium on PC via Windows 10 only.
As for the time it will be available to download and play, according to the official Microsoft Store listing, The Medium will be available at 11 a.m. EDT on Thursday, January 28.
However, you can pre-load The Medium if you’ve pre-ordered the title. The reported file size of The Medium is 23.07 GB on Xbox systems; on PC, the game will take up 24.47 GB.
We recommend pre-loading the game before it’s released, so you’ll be able to jump right in immediately when the title drops on Thursday.
THE MEDIUM PRE-ORDER BONUSES
If you pre-order The Medium, you’ll receive some digital-only goodies: a digital soundtrack of the game from legendary Japanese composer Akira Yamaoka (of Silent Hill fame) and Arkadiusz Reikowski, who has worked on other Bloober Team games like Blair Witch and Layers of Fear.
Gamers will also receive an official digital album of art inspired by the game.
