In his blunt resignation letter, leaked to the Delaware County (Pa.) Daily Times in January, Wilson charges that Boeing cut corners to meet deadlines and that the V-22 is unfit for duty: “Maybe you’ve never tried to repair an aircraft or launch a mission in a monsoon rain. I have, and believe me, our Osprey can’t do it.” Boeing execs dispute Wilson. They say they made the modifications ordered by the navy after the July crash. But the navy has abruptly postponed issuing a fuller crash-inquiry report, and two congressional committees may hold hearings on Wilson’s charges.
