Alongside returning voice cast members like Kyla Pratt (who voiced Penny Proud), Tommy Davidson (Oscar Proud) and Cedric the Entertainer (Uncle Bobby), actors and musicians like Lil Nas X, Tiffany Haddish, Lizzo and Gabrielle Union will be voicing new characters.
The show is also giving a new definition to “proud” with its new reboot, as the show is introducing a same-sex couple in Randall and Barry Leibowitz-Jenkins, voiced by Pose’s Billy Porter and Star Trek star Zachary Quinto. Their daughter Maya, meanwhile, is played by Hustlers star Keke Palmer.
The rest of the voice cast includes returning cast members like Paula Jai Parker, JoMarie Payton and Karen Malina White with a guest cast that includes everyone from Jane Lynch to Jaden Smith, Al Roker to Chance the Rapper.

Two characters who are getting new voice actors are Penny’s twin siblings BeBe and CeCe. They were originally brought to life by veteran voice actor Tara Strong, well known to most ’90s kids for being the voice of (among others), Dil Pickels in Rugrats, Bubbles in The Powerpuff Girls and Timmy Turner in Fairly OddParents among over 600 other IMDB credits.
However, since the show first aired, a number of animated shows decided to no longer have white actors play non-white characters. As such, Bresha Webb of HouseBroken takes over as CeCe, while newcomer Aiden Dodson is BeBe.
Louder and Prouder also seems to be taking a new direction with Penny’s friend Michael Collins. Always flamboyant, the original show balked at making him actually LGBTQ+, whereas the new reboot will explore his gender non-conforming life. The reboot has recast the role from Phil LaMarr to EJ Johnson, the son of Magic Johnson who is a member of the LGBTQ+ community and known in real life for his androgynous clothing.
